Below is a simplified example of how Chime and modern banking systems work.

Let’s suppose your employer sends the payment information to its company bank on Monday. The set payday is Friday.

The information will be processed by the company’s bank and sent to the federal bank on Tuesday.

The federal bank will process the information Tuesday and then send it to Chime Wednesday.

Once it receives information from federal banking, Chime will deposit money almost immediately to your account.

Important to note that Chime has not received the money yet. The money will remain at your bank until Friday when the payday is due. Chime funds your account with its own money.
