Chime does not hold direct deposits. Once Chime receives funds, they will be transferred directly into your account. Chime cannot provide any information regarding the status of your direct deposits. They don’t have it.

Push notifications and email notifications can be enabled for direct deposits. You will receive an email notification as soon as the deposite hits your bank account.

These notifications can be enabled by going to Settings on Chime, then enabling transaction notifications.

You should contact your benefits provider or employer if you don’t receive your Chime direct deposits within one day-day of your payday.

First, you need to understand modern banking to understand how Chime direct deposits work.

Below is a simplified example of how Chime and modern banking systems work.

Let’s suppose your employer sends the payment information to its company bank on Monday. The set payday is Friday.

The information will be processed by the company’s bank and sent to the federal bank on Tuesday.

The federal bank will process the information Tuesday and then send it to Chime Wednesday.

Once it receives information from federal banking, Chime will deposit money almost immediately to your account.

Important to note that Chime has not received the money yet. The money will remain at your bank until Friday when the payday is due. Chime funds your account with its own money.

Traditional banks won’t do this. They wait until payday to fund your account because they only get the money.

Chime direct deposit allows you to get paid 2 days before the due date.

You will need your Account Number and your Routing Number to set up direct deposits with Chime.

These two numbers are located under Settings and Account Information on Chime.

There are two ways to set up direct deposits: manually using the direct deposit form or automatically via the employer portal.

You Can Manually Set Up A Direct Deposit Deposit Via The Direct Deposit Form

Go to Settings > Account Information > Make Direct Deposit.

The Direct Deposit Form should be sent to you by email

Fill out the Direct deposit form. Please choose from one of the following options in the Amount section: Deposit my entire pay, Deposit $__ of my paycheck, or Deposit __%.

Under Authorization, write the name and contact information of your employer/benefits provider.

Send the completed form to your employer/benefits provider.

Complete the form

Select the amount that you would like to deposit
